Safeguarding
Future Ready Life Skills is committed to supporting the safety, wellbeing and dignity of young people.
This page explains our safeguarding approach and clarifies the role of the programme in relation to parents, carers, educators and other responsible adults.
The programme is designed to provide educational material that supports personal development. It is not a supervision service and does not replace the responsibility of parents, carers, schools or guardians to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children.
1. Our Safeguarding Principles
Our approach to safeguarding is guided by the following principles:
- The welfare and wellbeing of young people comes first.
- Young people should be treated with dignity, respect and fairness.
- Parents, carers and responsible adults remain the primary guardians of a young person’s welfare.
- Educational tools should encourage safe, responsible and thoughtful behaviour.
- Technology must never replace appropriate adult supervision.
- Concerns about safety should always be addressed by appropriate human intervention.
2. Nature of the Programme
Future Ready Life Skills is an educational programme that provides structured material designed to support the development of confidence, discipline and decision-making skills.
The programme may include written material, narrated content, exercises, scenario discussions and other learning tools.
Some components may use technology such as voice narration or AI-supported interactions. These tools are designed only to support learning and engagement. They are not capable of identifying or responding to safeguarding situations in the way a responsible adult can.
3. Role of Parents, Carers and Educators
Parents, carers and educators remain responsible for the supervision and wellbeing of young people using the programme.
We encourage adults to:
- take an interest in the material being explored;
- encourage discussion about ideas presented in the programme;
- support young people in thinking about choices and consequences;
- monitor technology use in an age-appropriate manner;
- provide guidance where questions or concerns arise.
The programme is designed to support these conversations, not replace them.
4. Online Safety
Young people should always be encouraged to follow safe online behaviour.
This includes:
- not sharing private or sensitive personal information online;
- not sharing passwords or personal account details;
- being cautious about communication with unknown individuals;
- speaking to a trusted adult if something online feels uncomfortable or unsafe;
- using technology respectfully and responsibly.
Parents and carers should reinforce these principles where appropriate.
5. Limitations of Technology
Technology-based tools, including AI-supported tools, have limitations.
They may not understand emotional context, safeguarding concerns or distress in the way a trained human can. They should never be relied upon as the sole source of support in situations involving risk, distress or vulnerability.
If a young person appears distressed or in need of help, a responsible adult should intervene and appropriate support should be sought.
6. When Immediate Help Is Needed
If a child or young person is in immediate danger or requires urgent assistance, contact appropriate emergency services or local safeguarding authorities immediately.
In the United Kingdom this may include:
- Emergency services: dial 999
- Non-emergency police: 101
- NHS urgent medical advice: 111
If you are outside the United Kingdom, please contact the appropriate emergency services in your country.
7. Respectful Behaviour
Users of the Future Ready Life Skills platform must behave respectfully and responsibly.
Misuse of the platform, including harassment, bullying, inappropriate communication or attempts to bypass safeguards, is not permitted and may result in restriction or removal of access.
8. Safeguarding Concerns
If you believe that a safeguarding concern is connected to the use of the programme or website, you may contact us using the details below.
Please note that we may not be able to respond immediately and we cannot act as an emergency safeguarding service. Urgent concerns should always be directed to appropriate local authorities or safeguarding professionals.
